Veli Lošinj
Veli Lošinj is a small town located in a small bay on the south-eastern side of the island of Losinj at the foot of Mount Sv. Ivan.
Veli Lošinj was once the largest settlement on the island, larger than Mali Lošinj, and the name Veli Lošinj or Velo Selo originated from it. Today is the third largest settlement in the Cres-Lošinj Islands, after Mali Lošinj and Cres.

Veli Lošinj is a small town of rich history, rich in various cultural sights, which include many old villas with large gardens. These gorgeous villas are the proof of the former wealth of Veli Lošinj and its inhabitants, primarily rich captains and sailors. In addition to the many luxurious villas, the historic monuments of the city include the Baroque parish church of St. Anthony the Hermit with a tall bell tower, a tower with a crown that was erected in the 16th century for the defense of the port from the invasion from the sea, and the church of Sv. Nicholas from the 15th century.
